All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire Cannock, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although specific age restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type. A valid full driving license is required, held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Renters must also present valid identification and proof of their current address. Payment information and a security deposit are necessary, along with any other criteria specified in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Cannock office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle collection. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed at this time. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting only for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Please ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the start of your rental; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may attract extra charges, so please contact us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find complete coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless covered by extra insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or breach of these Terms falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only serve its intended purpose, and it must not exceed passenger or weight limits. Driving outside the designated geographical boundaries without prior approval is also not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Limitation of Liability Policy
To the fullest extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cannock will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.
